To resolve the issue of banding on prints, custom parts were created to lock bearings and rods in place while adding external bracing. The source was found to be rocking z-motors causing uneven z-lift, resulting in squashed layers with bulging sides. Fixes include wedges, but modified parts like a base with extra motor support are available for those seeking greater rigidity. A corrected CAD file can be found at thingiverse.com/thing:26542, while an overkill base modification is at thingiverse.com/thing:28557. Wedges and a custom frame may be printed or made from other materials if desired. The frame fits specific tray corners or could be modified for plywood use. Z-rods have tapered joiners allowing adjustments without disassembly, but sanding may be needed to loosen them. Full height and width may require top joiner rod length increase and A-frame spool holder removal.
