Printrbot 1405 X Axis Extension
thingiverse
Based on Ahaer's improved model modified specifically for use with 1405 printers and properly sized rods to avoid any annoying protrusions. This modification will safely extend your x-axis up to 155mm, allowing the auto-level probe to function effectively. The print will be performed successfully using stock components, but you'll need to execute it with some careful rotations. After completing this project, I simply wrapped the GT2 belt around the small toothed section where it was initially supposed to be slotted in for convenience. This appears to be functioning exceptionally well so far. Additionally, I only zip-tied the bed down to prevent any damage from occurring due to a previously discovered oversight involving an unintended collision between the extruder head and the nuts. You will likely need to drill out the holes for the rods using a 5/8-inch bit, as well as the holes for the nuts (if you choose to use them), which requires great care and precision. However, beyond this initial step, you'll also need to execute the command sequence consisting of M211 X155 Y100 Z100 followed by M500 in order to redefine your printer's configuration. This adjustment must be complemented by updating every pertinent setting within Repetier and slicer as well.
