I designed this as an emergency measure after breaking my Ubis hot end, deciding it was the perfect opportunity to upgrade while buying a replacement. Upon receiving the new one, I quickly realized it was shorter than both my Ubis and E3D hot ends, prompting me to create this adapter to secure it under the stepper motor. Initially intended as a temporary fix, it ended up working so well that I never got around to modifying it. How I Designed This ----------------- To ensure proper installation, I recommend attaching the lower extruder arm to the mount before securing the mount to the printer. The assembly process closely follows the 1405 instructions, with some minor adjustments. Tips on Assembly ---------------- If needed, you can access and modify the SolidWorks file to customize or improve this design. Alternatively, if you require a SketchUp version, I'd be happy to provide it. Update: I've since abandoned this project due to upgrading my printer and discovering a better solution - an adapter available on Thingiverse (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:347953), which is likely more effective than my original design.
