Weblock with softshackle is designed for 25mm rodeolines with a webbing thickness of approximately 3mm. To accommodate other webbing thicknesses, adjust the model accordingly. At 44 grams, it's likely to be the lightest weblock with connector that still allows adjusting the length of your webbing. However, use it only on non-tensioned lines. Parts needed include a printed part, an aluminum tube measuring 19.5x1.5x500 mm (7mm tubes require 19.5x1.5x540mm), and a 3mm soft shackle. Assembly involves the following steps: - Sand your weblock body thoroughly to prevent the soft shackle from getting caught. - Heat the printed part in an oven (PET material works well at 75°C) and insert the aluminum tube. Note: Multiple bodies have been broken without heating. - Soft Shackle Assembly: Use 800mm of 3mm dyneema with a button knot, burying the tail by 60mm. Instructions can be found on YouTube (video ID 91_jEjQdlBU). - Pass the soft shackle through one side holder; the noose should point towards the back. Usage: - Pass the noose of the soft shackle through the sling and then the other side holder. - Insert the webbing as you would into a normal weblock. - The soft shackle also serves as the pin. Feed it through the webbing. - Close the soft shackle. Breaktests have shown that: - The weblock broke at 2,800 kg (4,400 kg with 7mm walls) when printed with PET. Only the side plates failed; the weblock still held the webbing in place. - The soft shackle broke at 17,000 kg. The breaktest was conducted by slacktivity.
