Printing the World The background storyThere are many stories about how the world was created. Mine is just a new one. In the Dark Universe, there was the Giant Octopus, it was he who invented the first way of 3D printing. He took a lot of dark matter and added it through 2 extreme big extruders. And started the process to convert the dark matter into matter, to use it as a filament in the expanding universe of matter. That way he made balls to play with and throw them into the universe. Watching what happened in between. And that is how he created the world and life on it.Making things in the Universe was very hard, because he only was able to use a small part of his tentacles.Printing the worldPrinting the world is a small visualization of my fantasy! I wanted it to get a representation in my work. By using the support as a part of it, I was able to make the story a little more real, because in the Original 3D Print you don’t see the Octopus tentacles at al.Like you can see it all came alive because of the support. The only support I will remove is the one below the top nozzle to the planet.The printI printed the work in White Satin PLA+ from E-Sun. To get the effect of a very new shining sphere. The way it looks now is from million years of erosion. It was printed with a standard 0.4 Nozzle and at 0,2 Quality, on a Prusa MK3S+
