Printing separated parts that can fit
thingiverse
Avoid printing issues with tight-fitting parts by using a plugin for skeinforge-50 in ReplicatorG. Download "skeinforge-50-carve.zip" and replace the "carve.py" file in the skein_engines/skeinforge-50 folder. Restart your software, then go to MENU>Gcode>Edit Slicing Profiles and choose your profile. In the Carve tab under Craft, enable the 'Offset model inward' feature and adjust x, y offsets (same value) and leave z-offset at 0. For skeinforge-35, download "skeinforge-35-carve.zip" instead. Alternatively, use standalone version shrinkmodel.py in the skein_engines/skeinforge-50 folder. Download it, open and choose your .stl file to create a new 'shrinked' file that fits better. This plugin also allows for scale adjustment without losing fit. See results at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKLQPbExpu4 (0.3mm, 0.3mm, 0.0mm offset) and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ieMXp1h0iM0 (0.15mm, 0.15mm, 0.0mm offset). Remember to backup origin files before replacement.
