Printing Press with Chinese Characters

I designed this tile and tray set for our 3rd-grade program - Cultural Astronomy: China. We focus on incredible inventions from China: The Compass, Fireworks (Gunpowder), Papermaking (using wood pulp), and Printing Press. To demonstrate the printing press, we use the tile set and tray. Six of the ten included tiles are selected to be placed in the tray. Ink is then applied onto the raised characters, and paper is placed on top, before being pressed down. This simple innovation on stamping led to a massive breakthrough in sharing knowledge.
