Here's Your Custom Honeycomb Coasters Set 1 x Base 1 x Honeycomb Base is created by using multiple hexagon shapes connected at their vertices. Honeycomb cell settings are fully customizable. Settings: cellthick (0.4 to 3) - Sets the honeycomb cell wall thickness. Thicker walls create stronger structures but increase the total volume and weight of the part. celltype (hex, circle, octogon, star1, square or diamond ) - Sets the type of cells to be used in your design. cellheight (5 to 25) - Adjusts the height of the honeycomb cell wall. Higher walls will increase the structure's stiffness but make it less rigid. overlaptype (no/yes) - Controls whether each cell's adjacent neighbors have overlap on the center axis or not, to improve overall structural rigidity and to reduce gap width for tight cells designs. If set to yes all hexagonal faces that are connected will form a tight cluster and each pair of parallel edges which intersect has no empty space in between. The resulting cell design looks visually pleasing but creates slightly longer paths that result in the walls of your 3d printed part having somewhat more area coverage, therefore potentially making it more expensive to produce (depending on your chosen printer). It may take longer printing time too. cellrad (1-10) - This parameter controls how wide you'd like your honeycomb's edge (circumference per row cell). Setting it higher means that every line in between edges will be less than each row cell, effectively giving more surface to walls so as a result increases the overall area but is heavier for identical amount of used volume. Print Parameters Resolution - Set how many triangles are inside an angle at corner Default=10 (0.25 mm / 4%) Min=0.1 max 100 Scales - Scale from a point you choose in your model to determine where the final honeycomb cells should sit in the middle. If it says that its on the "model" we're starting on default location in 3D viewer then select any corner as this will make all corners look same from each direction and provide a uniform look. Orientation - You may adjust either X,Y or Z for all hexes so that their sides are always horizontal or vertical. Minimum Area (MM2): Controls whether you see every triangle within the grid and not all edges (lines on edges). Lower this value, more lines shown.
