Printer Status NeoPixel Corner Bracket
thingiverse
A sleek, compact bracket designed to replace a corner bracket on your printer is being developed. It houses a circular 7 Neopixel array that measures 25mm, which I purchased through zyltech (link below). Several options are available. The first is a one-piece design and is completely flat, originally intended for my transparent PETG printer. The other is a two-piece design so any color combination can be used, with insert options - flat, beveled, and rounded. The goal is to create a minimal printer status indicator with Marlin 2.0+ neopixel support. These arrays have powered output leads (5v) on the opposite side of the input connections. The output connections in this setup will be mounted against the aluminum extrusion to allow the input wires to come out of the opening on the opposite side. You will need to tape or otherwise cover these connections or the extrusion itself so no contact is made to the aluminum. Leaving these contacts exposed runs a very high risk of shorting out your neopixel and possibly your PSU! Zyltech 7 NeoPixel RGB LED Array I have successfully printed and test fit the one-piece bracket, it was a snug fit. This will work perfectly in my shop to show the status of each printer. You can customize the neopixel temperature and color settings in your firmware easily.
