Printer Simple Printed Enclosure
thingiverse
Minimalist enclosure designed specifically for the Prusa MK2S printer, with LED strips, HEPA and carbon filters, and additional fans to safeguard electronics and power supply. Work is ongoing, as several components remain unfinished: the filament guide to cover the upper hole is still missing, along with clips to block the door in its closed position, clips to seal openings between plexiglass parts, side opening covers, and an electronics box for fan and LED connections. Despite being incomplete, the enclosure already looks impressive and functions well. Even without a complete seal, it retains heat effectively and maintains a stable temperature of 30-40C during prolonged PET print sessions. However, there are some issues to address: sorbothane supports added to the printer's feet have increased its height by 1-2 cm, causing the extruder to touch the plexiglass when moved to its uppermost position. To resolve this issue, the extruder top was trimmed by 1-2 mm. Nevertheless, a more elegant solution might be to increase the enclosure's height by 1-2 cm, as the current 40 cm height appears insufficient for the MK2S printer.
