I designed a cabinet for my printer to regulate temperature levels. The interior features a light source, webcam, and observation window within the door panel. On top, I integrated a custom-designed bushing system. Many individuals have shown considerable interest in this printer cabinet than I initially anticipated. I will provide detailed specifications and measurements below. All panels are constructed from Luan plywood sourced from Lowes hardware store, often referred to as door core material due to its affordable price point of $2.98 per 24" x 24" sheet. I purchased six sheets because they fit within my vehicle's constraints. The wood used is 2" x 1" fir strips, also an inexpensive option. However, by carefully selecting the pieces, one can find those with minimal to no knots and straight edges. Most of my cuts had one or two knots in the ends, but since all cuts were made at a 45-degree angle, these imperfections did not pose a problem. The materials used include Lexan from home storage, varnish, piano hinges, and a variety of screws. Dimensions: Bottom: 19" x 22" With 1 x 2 strips on the bottom, this creates a 3/4" high compartment, measuring 16 x 19", which snugly accommodates my i3 printer. Top: Identical to the bottom but features 1 x 2 strips on the exterior and a removable back panel with a slot in the rear. Sides: Measuring 18" x 22", leaving ample clearance above the printer for easier insertion and removal of the device. I designed the box with sufficient space to accommodate my z-axis bracing system and adjustable feet, ensuring optimal support for the printer. That's the core design; it's straightforward yet significantly enhances performance by maintaining a stable temperature level for both the bed and extruder heat.
