Printer base clamp and z-axis squaring mount
thingiverse
These parts are designed for a Geeetech aluminum Prusa i3. The main goal is to securely fasten the printer's base to a sturdy platform, using the printer-to-base clamp component, and then create perfect square alignment with this platform while minimizing any wobbling of that axis by employing the square mount for z-axis part (x2). The z-axis only makes contact with the y-bed/axis at two points on its very bottom edge, resulting in a noticeable lean forward due to both motors hanging off its vertical face. This issue is exacerbated once the x-axis is installed. For my platform, I used three 20" x 20" x 1/4" MDF sheets, which were screwed together. After centering the printer on the platform, it was secured using four printer-to-base clamp parts (two at each end of the y-axis). Then, the two square mount for z-axis pieces could be fastened to both the platform and the printer.
