This kit comprises parts for connecting tubes to create an A-frame structure, made from 13mm fibreglass tent poles (originally $4AU for four) or alternatively 16mm curtain rods. The design can be rescaled for different tube sizes. The Printrbot is housed in a 300x475mm bamboo tray, with 700mm long poles creating a 24-degree apex angle. Parts are overbuilt to support the weight of plastic components. Early versions are included in the SU file. Printing was done in PLA, with long tubes at 700mm, cross pieces measuring 440mm each, and removable top bar also at 440mm. Four 295mm 45-degree braces and short A-frame cross pieces of 100mm complete the structure, which surprisingly stays together without glue.
