Printed ZSlider MGN9H Rail Replacement
prusaprinters
Created based on the models from this project created by u/zruncho, from a suggestion I got by u/computermedic78 for a cheaper alternative to metal rails. The original z sliders were designed for 1515 extrusions on a Voron v0.1 variant to replace the MGN7H z rails as a cheaper alternative. See https://github.com/zruncho3d/DuelingZero/blob/main/DESIGN.md#z-sliders for more info.It was suggested by a couple people that I could try this same concept for the z axis on a Voron Trident so I grabbed the STLs and made my own version to match the larger extrusions and rails.I now have a version for MGN12H rails here: https://www.printables.com/model/422415-printed-zslider-mgn12h-rail-replacement There are two versions:ZSlider_MGN9H_v1.4_IN - Version for 4x m3 Heat Inserts. Currently the block is 10mm x 21mm x 39.9mm. One mm wider than the original carriage for the rail to allow for thread inserts.ZSlider_MGN9H_v1.4 - Version for 4x direct m3 screws. This version matches the original carriage dimensions exactly, 10mm x 20mm x 39.9mm.Disclaimer: These only work on t-slot rails. I also have not tested these at all on a working 3d printer yet! As other have mentioned in the linked project files I wouldn't recommend them for anything that would require non linear forces such as an XY gantry on a core XY printer. They should work great on a z axis that's just lifting along a guide in one direction. The more dimensionally accurate your rails dimensions are, the better these will perform. I have a mixture of cheap extrusions and nice ones and it works across all of them, but it's much more rigid with an exact 6mm slot.
