Printed truck V2: Rear axle
thingiverse
Some more hours of designing and testing are done, adding another part to completion. The rear axle for the new RC truck, 'Printed truck V2', is now finished. It should flex and move better than its old counterpart. Hardware needed includes: 4x M3x14 for the 4 link setup (length may depend on what rod ends you use) 7x m3x10 for the axle housing 7x m3 nuts for the axle housing 8x m3x8mm grub screws for the gears and rims 2x m3x4mm grub screws for the U-joint piece You can check out the assembly video for this on my YouTube channel. Go to http://www.youtube.com/c/MrCrankyfaceProjects to see it. I will upload more V2 parts as soon as I get them finished, so stay tuned! The rims are available at: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1412131 The tyres can be found here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1408635 Update 2016-04-16: I have updated the diffhub_top since the shockmounts were apparently one millimeter off to the side. Update 2016-06-10: I have added Diffhub_top_V2, Diffhubbottom_V2 and Smallgear_V2. These parts feature slightly altered link geometry for better articulation and a more compact look. Smallgear_V2 needs to be attached with a 1.5mm pin (steel wire or equivalent). I recommend printing the small U-joint with a very high infill to make the 'ears' last longer, adjust infill until you get them completely solid.
