Printed LED Heart
thingiverse
The NYC resistor blog showcased Valentine's day "sneak peak" pictures, which inspired me to create a PLA LED heart similar to the acrylic one (http://www.nycresistor.com/2010/02/10/a-little-valentines-day-sneak-peek/). Although mine has different specifications and non-transparent plastic, it's visually appealing. The battery compartment is a little large, but it won't jostle much if the leads are taped to the battery. I updated the scad and stl files for better battery compartment design and reduced peg size. However, note that the pictures are edited as my camera interpreted the LED light as yellow, reducing vibrancy. When printing, avoid rafts. Some drilling and filing might be needed depending on your machine settings. Included scad files allow parameter changes, although dxf file access is limited at the moment. Attach the LED with Kapton tape and stick them together. Gift it to someone special as a token of care.
With this file you will be able to print Printed LED Heart with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Printed LED Heart.
