Printed Grip Strengthener

Printed Grip Strengthener

This is a fully 3D printed Hand Grip Strengthener, designed with current ISM capabilities at the forefront of its creation. Astronauts' muscles tend to relax in microgravity for extended periods, including those in their hands. This hand grip strengthener allows them to exercise those muscles even outside scheduled exercise times! It prints as a support-free assembly, fitting on a 6x6x6 inch cubic build platform. Three 3D printed compression springs are evenly spaced within the rectangular body, while a circular viewing window makes it easy to see when the springs are fully compressed. The completed assembly fits comfortably in the hand at default size, but because it is completely printable, its size can be adjusted for any astronaut. I strongly suggest printing this in ABS, as it works significantly better than PLA.
