Printed door latch for printer enclosure door
thingiverse
Requires an 8mm hole centered 8mm from the panel edge you're trying to latch onto. I created versions for plastic thicknesses that are nominally 3/16" and 1/4". Solid model files are included for users to adjust panel thickness as needed. The screw is M3mm x 12mm or 14mm, and you'll likely need to drill out the holes. The knob requires a clearance hole, while the hook part needs a slight compression fit on the screw. Solid model files are provided in Alibre format for those with Alibre software, and STEP format for everyone else. These files allow users to adjust the design as needed. The amber sample was printed using 3DXTech Ultem 1010, while the white sample used 3DXTech polycarbonate. You can use any plastic you prefer, but something with a bit of flexibility works better than too stiff material. Experimenting with different plastics is recommended. I suggest installing one latch at each outer corner of the door for optimal sealing, but placing it in the middle of the outer edge is also effective.
