UPDATE on 27.01.19 1) ABS wheels are not the best option. Tested different filaments (ABS, PLA, TPE, TPU, Rubber, Nylon), and nylon appears to be the best choice. 2) A 20x60 rail for the X-axis is too soft for milling; a 40x60 rail is the optimal option. It's been tested, and parts will be added soon. 3) Belt drive: fast, easy, but not accurate or strong enough, especially with NEMA17 motors that have low torque. Screws are currently being tested and appear to be a much better option, even though they're not as fast. After disassembling my MPCNC, I obtained a large quantity of 608 bearings and screws, which I wanted to use in another CNC machine. Therefore, I decided to build my own router, which can be easily updated. I spent many days thinking about how to achieve what I want, and eventually made plans for the first version of this machine. https://youtu.be/HZGdXFKRHZs In total, it will take approximately 1kg of ABS filament. In the current iteration, I used: V-slot extrusion for the frame: - 4 pieces of 20x20mm x 960mm - 2 pieces of 20x20mm x 920mm - 4 pieces of 20x20mm x 250mm - 2 pieces of 20x60mm x 1000mm - 1 piece of 20x60mm x 936mm - 1 piece of 20x60mm x 300mm 22 pieces of 608 bearings, 3 meters of GT2 belt, 3 pieces of 16-tooth 5mm axle GT2 gears, 4 NEMA17 steppers, 1 piece of a 500w spindle. Screws, washers, and nuts will be added later. For better angles, you may want to order 15-20mm MDF or plywood to place inside the bottom of the machine. I used printed v-wheels with double bearings for the upper rollers and single bearings for the lower ones. Levers are used for wheel tightening; eccentrics are not needed. Large spacers are inserted between the carriage and wheels, while small spacers are placed between bearings in the double wheels.
