Concept modeling isn't about creating something practical, but rather exploring ideas. Printed Building Concept: By printing plastic on a large scale, buildings can be constructed with less labor, particularly in areas requiring special trades like electrical conduits, plumbing/piping, and paint-free surfaces. Other features such as gutters, insulation cavities, stairs/railings, counters, sinks, and door/window framing could potentially be printed. This reduces the labor of painters, plumbers, electricians, etc. The printed plastic can also serve as a print-in-place form that can be filled with concrete for added strength. Printed Building Concept -- Wall Section Models (THIS THING) Models the primary features of the printed building concept: * Plastic as a print-in-place concrete form * Printed piping (no in-wall plumbing labor) * Printed electrical conduit, boxes, and fixtures * Labor-free finished interior and exterior surfaces * Labor-free printed gutters Design flexibility is also achieved through conventional style (round pipes) and new style (rectangular pipe/conduit). A revised version (rev B) is included for improved bridging. The bots are essentially scissor lifts with two arms guiding hot ends. Two "sketches" model how to accomplish that.
