printed breech and cover for brass barrels in blasters
prusaprinters
This is a sleeve and breech for using a 17/32 standard brass barrel instead of an aluminium barrel in most 3d printed blasters without all the hassle of using brass. This also allows you to swap brass or normal barrels on the go and without needing any other change. The brass clicks into place in the breech and allows for smooth loading of the darts without any interference from ridges such as from the brass. There are 2 versions of breeches I designed so far The first breech is intended for worker caliburn ramrods (with o-ring), both standard and the new vanguard ones.you can shove the sleeve and the breech over the barrel and place it in your calburn as you would use a normal aluminium barel. The breech provides enough space for the ramrod to enter, is tight enough to seal with the o-ring. (tested and works perfectly) The second breech is intended for generic blasters where the seal doesn't have to come come from the breech itself. Either it comes from a brass ramrod which enter the brass barrel itself or it comes from a turnaround such as used in the Lynx blaster. The design I made was intended for that lynx specifically. (untested but I'm pretty sure it works) Lastly there is a sleeve to cover and protect the rest of the brass barrel allowing you to keep the barrel in place with screws without pinching the brass. Print it at the length you need. All parts come with holes and no holes versions, the holes are intended for adding a drop of superglue to fixate the brass in the sleeve. Just add a drop in each or (most) holes AFTER you inserted the brass and it will remain in place.
