Printed bearing, non-printed balls
thingiverse
By eliminating the need for printed spherical balls, my design closely resembles a standard 608 ball bearing size-wise. This is still a work in progress, as the plastic tab doesn't fit the outer ring slot correctly. Future improvements include shrinking both rings to match a 608's dimensions and relocating the filling hole to the inner ring. For the spherical components, I tested small craft store pellets but found better results with uniform 3mm beads. These worked well despite their central hole, which didn't affect performance. To assemble, print both rings and fill with 3mm-diameter spheres; seal the hole with tape before use.
