Printed balance bike for 2yo (draisienne) (Dandy horse)
thingiverse
I built this bike for my two-year-old Daughter's birthday, and she loves it! She even got to watch me create it from scratch. To make and assemble it, you won't need any fancy tools - just some basic equipment like drills, a drill gun, a hacksaw, files, screwdrivers, and wrenches. For the assembly and hardware requirements, check out the parts and assembly drawings files. Those will give you all the details you need to get started. When printing the bike, keep these tips in mind: The STL files are labeled with the quantity of each part you'll need to print. I printed all the parts using white MakerGear ABS at 101% infill density - you may need to adjust this depending on the material you're using. For most parts, I used a honeycomb infill pattern between 10-15%, but for the seat components, I went with 25% infill because that's where the weight will be concentrated. The top of the seat, hand grips, and square plugs were printed in MakerGear flex material. Infill doesn't matter much for the plugs and grips, but a rectilinear infill pattern at 15-20% gives the top seat a great squishiness. I used three to four perimeters on all parts. You can find the tires here: https://goo.gl/wRcCRP. Let me know what you think of this bike design, and if you decide to build one, I'd love to see your creation!
