This extruder mount replacement, designed for Printrbot's plain vanilla Prointrbit (non-LC), features a 40mm fan mount. Comprising of two components, it resembles a box with a 32mm opening at the bottom for accommodating the printer nozzle and ensuring airflow. The initial versions had a sloping fan of 25 degrees to enable its use without the "lid" part, but this aspect has proven difficult to 3D print. The original design files are available in the SU file, although .stl files are yet to be posted. However, the design is slightly heavier than necessary, and heat buildup might be an issue if the fan is turned off for extended periods with the hotend still heated. Additional ventilation holes can be added to address this concern, as air tightness isn't essential. The fan was found to be quite powerful, necessitating partial covering of the intake. Adjustments may be required based on room temperature, filament type, layer height, and print size. This replacement part is compatible with Printrbot for 3D printing. The small screw holes are intended for M3 tapping; however, some printers might produce oversized holes, necessitating larger screws or filler. The cable access hole contains support material that needs removal, exercising caution to avoid cracking the main shell. The lid part can be secured using a rubber band as an alternative to the original mounting method.
