Printbed-friendly Pry Bar

Printbed-friendly Pry Bar

thingiverse

This small pry bar is designed to help remove stubborn parts from the print bed. The rounded fulcrum is intended to reduce damage to the bed, compared to using a sharp angled tool. It works best on prints with a chamfer or lip at the bottom. I use this pry bar to remove wide flat parts from my PEI bed. These parts can be challenging to get off, especially when they have a "sharp" first layer that's harder to separate due to hotter/low printed first layers. To avoid this issue, I often add a chamfer to the base of my designs. The pry bar is particularly useful for getting under this chamfer and helping to pop prints off easily. It was printed in PETG with 40% infill and features three perimeter layers at the tip for added strength. Using a smaller extrusion width can result in a sharper tip, making it even more effective.
