Printbed fixture for heatbed of Zeepro Zim
thingiverse
To minimize vibrations of the heatbed from print head movements, I developed a custom attachment for the Zim 3D printer's heatbed by Zeepro. As a result, X-axis movements can now be completely eliminated. This accessory was designed to seamlessly integrate with standard 22mm ball bearings and M5 screws. A critical feature of the design is that the pulley is intended to be glued together, making it simpler to print in two parts. For this project, I employed an aluminum rod measuring 30x3mm and anchored it inside the printer frame. By doing so, a significant reduction in heatbed vibrations can be achieved. A key visual comparison between the two prints - before and after using the attachment - shows a remarkable difference. Prior to installation of the accessory, large, noticeable waves were present in the print, indicated by green coloring. However, after installing the custom attachment, the resulting black print displays only tiny, minor waves, showcasing its effectiveness. Print Settings: Rafts: It doesn't really matter what raft settings are chosen. Supports: No supports need to be included. Resolution: The recommended resolution is 0.15mm for optimal results. Infill: A reasonable infill percentage is around 20%.
