This Z-Stage is an alternative for Makerbot/Cupcake with MK5/MK6 extruder, inspired by MiseryBot's "MiZ Rider". It adopts MiseryBot's stepper motor coupler and replaces the small ball bearings with linear bearings due to cost reasons. Eliminating Z-Stage wobble, it features a springy suspension on the threaded rod end for dampening. The extruder mount has an integral fan and air ducts for cooling the extruder motor, thermal barrier tube heat sink, object being printed, and ABS parts. With a build height of about 150mm using standard Cupcake build platform, it utilizes M3 screws, M8 threaded rod, M8 nuts, NEMA17 stepper motor from original Z-Stage assembly, and additional vitamins like precision rods, linear bearings, and a 45mm 12V fan.
