Printable vise with no threaded elements
thingiverse
Seeking a small bench-top vise that's sturdy and entirely printable, I opted to avoid threaded components due to their printing challenges. Instead, my design employs rubber bands or springs for holding the moving jaw to the compression assembly, as well as securing the latter. This setup provides consistent force on the moving jaw. Additionally, an external offset peg is incorporated to increase force and keep jaws open. My model was successfully validated in Repetier but requires support material, with 4mm spacing yielding favorable results. Post-printing, minor sanding and filing may be necessary. I hope this proves helpful to others. Bill
