February Update: Let's Unite and Create an Epic Open Source Ukulele Bass! I'm Excited to Share the Fusion 360 File - Now It's Your Turn! I invite you all to join forces with me to craft a truly amazing open source ukulele bass. With your collective expertise, we can push the boundaries of innovation and create something truly extraordinary. December Update: Neck Mastery Achieved! A huge shoutout goes to Andreas Broager Lauritzen for his dedication in making the neck printable in two parts! This breakthrough has brought us one step closer to realizing our dream ukulele bass. Inspired by the Kala Ubass, Our Design is Almost Fully Printable This project is a labor of love, and we're getting close to achieving our goal. The only non-printable components are the "serious" mechanics, which I believe are essential for a proper setup with correct intonation. That's why we've incorporated a Fender-style bridge into our design. Our Strings are ThunderGut Standard - A Match Made in Heaven! The strings used in this project are ThunderGut standard strings, and as seen in the pictures, there's a hole at the bottom for a Fishmann Presys Blend pickup system. This setup will give us the best possible sound quality. Original Mechanics Preferred for Largest Strings For the largest strings, we recommend using original mechanics specifically designed for the ukulele bass. Kalas own mechanics are listed below, but they come with a higher price tag: https://kalabrand.com/collections/u-bass-parts/products/tuner-u-bass-hipshot-right Experience the Sound - Listen to Our Recording!
