Printable Tripod Mount

This portable media tripod mount was created to address the remake challenge found at http://blog.thingiverse.com/2009/08/26/remake-challenge-iphone-tripod-mount/. The adapter is designed to fit various handheld devices, featuring reconfigurable single or double support blocks on top and bottom. The smallest clamping size is 1.75 inches, with the largest at 3 inches, making it an ideal fit for iPhones. The two clamping arms prevent lateral movement by fitting into each other. The female attachment has a press fit for a 1/4-20 nut, acting as the tripod mount. To minimize lateral movement between the female and clamp arm, a 'peg' feature is modeled. However, there might be a better solution. Adding low durometer material to the clamp fingers would provide a nice grip without damaging the phone surface. For assembly, you will need 1x 10-24 thread wing nut (#98671A150 Mcmaster-Carr), 1x 10-24 thread 4in pan head bolt (#99117A510 Mcmaster-Carr), and 1x 1/4-20 hex nut (#90498A029 Mcmaster-Carr).
