This simple ruler features a guide and cutout corner for easy use on metal or wooden parts. In German, it's called Schlosserwinkel, while in English, it's known as a try square. The second photo showcases both the printed ruler and its original metal inspiration. The guide aligns well with the work piece's edge, thanks to the small groove at its base. Additionally, the cutout corner allows for accurate measuring of right angles. Although a similar design has recently been published on Thingiverse, this creator developed their scad code from scratch using the original metal square as inspiration. The ruler shown measures 50mm long and was printed with 3mm PLA filament at 0.4mm layer height, 2 perimeters, and 25% infill. A parametric scad file is supplied for customization, and STL files are available in 50mm and 70mm sizes, as well as mirrored versions. Post-printing, sanding may be necessary if the bottom layer appears squished at the edges.
