All parts have been thoroughly checked within 3DS Max's STLcheck modifier with no errors detected whatsoever. A comprehensive check using MiniMagics 3.0 by Materialise n.v., copyright 2013, confirms the entire model is free from errors and ready for printing on a 3D printer. The board measures precisely 96mm square and is an impressive 2mm thick. This convenient design comes in two interlocking parts that can be printed separately in different colours. By simply snapping the parts together, you instantly have a functional chess board. Included are all the essential components: 2 x board pieces, 1 pawn, 1 rook, 1 knight, 1 bishop, 1 queen and 1 king, as well as 4 additional texture files. With these, it's effortless to duplicate the pieces and create a complete set that can be customised with textures to your heart's content. Note that the printable STL files come in a separate file for each piece within one zip file, sans textures. The size of the pieces ranges from 16-26mm in height and have an 8mm diameter base. Consideration should also be given to designing a carrying box measuring approximately 100x100x15mm to comfortably hold all the pieces - perfect for storage or transporting in your pocket or handbag. Texture files are also provided for those not planning to print the model. The versatile nature of this design means it can be utilised on a computer, within games or printed and enjoyed in 'real life'.
