Printable PBY-5A Catalina OLD VERSION
thingiverse
The Catalina flying boat is a WW2 era maritime patrol plane that served as an anti-submarine aircraft among many other roles. This version of the Catalina is old; for a new, improved version, check out https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2401976. How I Designed This Model I downloaded the original model from cgtrader, where it was available for free as a 3D aircraft design. Once I had the model, I used Windows 10's default 3D designer, 3D Builder, to split it down the middle and create two separate parts. Next, I exported the parts and loaded them into Tinkercad, a simple browser-based editor, where I removed the propellers, thickened the wing struts and tail section, added a piece of the hull underneath the tail, retracted the undercarriage, added gun blisters to the plane's body, and finally added floats on the end of the wings. If you're interested in versions with the floats or wheels down or other variations, simply leave a comment, and I'll design one for you; however, I won't create any modifications unless someone requests them.
