Printable Modular Robot

thingiverse

This is a customizable printable robotic system, crafted by students at Hamburg University during a collaborative project. Individual components are powered by Radio Control servos, directed by Arduino Nano controllers and connected through robust magnetic links. Components can be quickly reassembled on-the-fly while the robot remains operational, with automatic detection of changes in its overall layout and real-time recognition of each module's pitch and yaw positioning. Detailed specifications, project source code, and applicable software tools are publicly available on-line at http://tams.informatik.uni-hamburg.de/research/3d-printing/pmr.
