Extracting textures from a .skp file requires specific software; Sketchup, Cinema 4D, 3ds Max, or Rhinoceros 3D all offer methods to do so. In Sketchup, export a 2D image under File/Export/2d Graphic. For Cinema 4D, importing the .skp file will generate a folder with textures. With 3ds Max, textures are stored in ..3dsMaxsceneassetsimages. Rhinoceros 3D requires opening the material editor and selecting the texture's name to find its location. Alternatively, exporting an fbx file with embedded media from any of these programs will generate a folder of textures alongside the file.
