Printable Linear Bearing and Rail System - Draft 1

Printable Linear Bearing and Rail System - Draft 1

thingiverse

This initial design features a predominantly printable linear bearing system coupled with a setup for the linear rail. However, I can't assure its functionality or printability. As I don't own a 3D printer, testing is not possible from my end. Your feedback would be highly appreciated – whether it works or not! If you face issues, do share them; I'm open to collaborations and suggestions for improvement on platforms like here or RepRap Forums. A non-printable component is the 6mm recirculating balls. Their source can be found below. Note that the .stl files need significant scaling (approximately by a factor of 10^3) due to Solidworks' default export unit settings in meters for STL files. Assemble from bottom-to-top, fill with affordable 6mm Airsoft BBs as ball bearings, and ensure rails are printed such that the triangular indent is down and beam is up. Design allows clearance for non-flat overhanging faces on two fitting rails.
