Printable LED Arc Reactor

Printable LED Arc Reactor

To create an arc reactor for Halloween, I opted to print one since none were available. Using SolidWorks, I designed a model housing 14 LEDs that requires only wires. The reactor measures 100mm in diameter and should fit on a Maker Bot. For printing, use 50% infill; 25% may also suffice. Sand the base of the LEDs if necessary, then solder them with resistors (one 150 ohm per two LEDs). Power it with a 9V battery or six AAs. Smooth down the LEDs to improve lighting evenness and attach an elastic band for wearing. Cover sharp parts on the back with hot glue or cardboard. Wrapping coils of wire around the reactor is optional but enhances visual appeal. Enjoy your Tony Stark-inspired costume!
