Initially, I created this design after todbot introduced his concept. However, I became lazy and delayed its completion. Here's the result! This printed item is frequently used by me. There are two versions - a desktop stand and a wall-mounted one. The desktop stand comprises three parts: a painted black base, a clip glued to it, and a main housing for the cable that snaps in and out of the clip. The wall-mounted version has just two components – the wall mount and the cable holder, which also snaps in and out. I appreciate the satisfying snap fit and its functional perfection. It clicks with an audible sound and holds securely. The snap clip allows adjusting the cable within the enclosure and provides portability. However, over time, the snap fit loosens, necessitating realignment of the iPod charger. To solve this issue, I introduced a new part called "ipodstopper" that plugs the bottom hole and maintains the correct level. Now, it's perfect! To create the desktop version, print one of the main bodies (choose from ipoddockv6design, ipoddockv6botmade, or ipoddockv3), along with a bottom clip (ipodflatstandclip). Attach the clip to your desired base and snap the cable into the main housing. If it's tight, use sandpaper or an X-Acto knife to adjust the sides. For the wall-mounted version, print the main body (as mentioned earlier) and the wall mount (ipodstandv3). Both components should be printed in their optimal orientation.
