This is a straightforward demonstration that highlights the absence of support structures.\r\n\r\nThe two holes on the left are clearance holes, while the two on the right are for press fit applications - simply different sizes.\r\n\r\nAt the top, there are two holes. One is a modified version of a design I found on Makers Muse channel, and the other is a press fit hole printed vertically. Each print orientation has its advantages.\r\n\r\nCentered in the middle is a basic example of a hole passing through a part. A 45-degree angle and I are compatible.\r\n\r\nAs more people start using additive manufacturing at home, we all need to be aware of design considerations for our machines. Supports have their place, but if you can design without them, that's the best approach.
