I was captivated by John Edmark's Helicone when I stumbled upon it on a tweet from Clifford A. Pickover. I wanted to understand how it worked and came up with a thing that you see here. Although it isn't as polished as the original, it seems to operate in the same way. To print this: Use PLA, 0.3mm layers, 20% infill, no supports. You will need to print: 1 firstSegment, 17 segments, 1 shaftNHandle, 1 endCap. Assembly instructions are as follows: - Place the first segment on the shaft so it locks in place (the first segment remains stationary), - Add the other 17 segments, - Put the end cap in place. Enjoy!
