A custom filament spool with standard specifications includes a center diameter of 32mm, a 60mm diameter for filament wrap and an outer diameter of 120mm. It can hold approximately 300-400 grams of filament. Following a few issues experienced by Nebbian while printing the original design on http://www.thingiverse.com/make:166072, I revised it by enhancing certain aspects. Specifically, the changes involved increasing the number of polygons for better aesthetics, widening the clearances and incorporating holes at both the center and rim to secure filament ends in place. The updated version features a v2 tag within its name due to the revisions made. Print two identical copies of the STL design, then connect them together tightly by applying glue or wrapping tape around their central region. If this precaution is not taken before layering filament on it, tension will cause the spool's parts to drift apart slowly over time due to excessive pressure exerted on these parts by tightly wrapped threads.
