Aiming to create a DIY pop machine using rapid prototyping, I've designed a printable coin mechanism based on a YouTube tutorial. The project involves printing a coin mech and soda dispensing mechanism, wiring it with an Arduino, and placing it inside a wooden box. To help others join the project, the design files are available on GitHub. Next steps include adding a coin return feature, failsafe mechanism, switches, storage, rejection of large objects, and escrow functionality. The test rig has successfully worked with pretend force; actual counterweights and switches will be added soon.
