Printable Clock, Parametric Proof of Concept

Printable Clock, Parametric Proof of Concept

thingiverse

This proof-of-concept showcases a printable clock design featuring a power source, gear train, Graham escapement, pendulum, and three hands on concentric shafts. The clock is fully parametric, animate-able, and modular within OpenSCAD's constraints. It uses three types of gear wheels for support and proper positioning, mesh, and rotation. The code leverages the involute gear script from MCAD library and the creator's escapement library. Future plans include moving the script to another library and providing both assembled and laidOutToPrint modules. Users can play with the code, tweak parameters, and expect fast feedback in OpenCSG mode. Generating individual STL files for printing is also efficient. The creator welcomes questions and promises a fully-commented library version.
