I got my Binabo set yesterday and I'm absolutely thrilled with this product. It's a fantastic construction toy of exceptional quality. But, of course, I had to make it printable to take it to the next level. ### Parts #### Binabo Clone This creation approximates an original Binabo with some compromises made for printability and sanity. It's not perfect, but it gets the job done. #### Binabo Connectors This small part was designed to optimize the tolerances of the connectors. It might also be useful to terminate open connections in proper end points. #### Binabo Hex This new part with three connections was a no-brainer and fits seamlessly into the system. Do you have any ideas for other innovative parts? ### Material The original Binabo is made from Arboblend, a lignin-based material that's incredibly versatile. It can be bent easily, won't break, and returns to its original form. To get printed pieces working well, they'd need to be made from a similar material. While I've found lignin-based 3D printing filaments, I don't have them for testing and am unsure about their features. When you combine original Binabo with a few PLA printed parts, there's no real problem, as the original pieces can handle most of the bending. ### Buy the Original! Printing extensions is fun, but you probably can't match the quality of the original. These creators deserve support for choosing sustainable materials and a sustainable business concept.
