In order to complete my project, which requires numerous bearings, I discovered a solution to print them myself. However, I initially faced an issue as the filament used for printing was too tall when utilized as ball bearings. To rectify this, precise cutting of the rods was necessary to prevent rubbing against end caps or sideways rotation and jamming. After testing the initial design, which had a spinning but non-loose bearing, I ran it on a Tamaya gearbox for an hour to break it in. This process resulted in fine white ABS powder inside, improving the smoothness of the bearing. Upon breaking in, I cleaned the powder and filled the bearing with Vaseline for a perfectly smooth operation. For more details, visit www.Splitreaction.com.
