Printable Airsoft AR15 (PAAR15) AEG Body kit
cults3d
This project took a lot of time and effort. As its name suggests, this is a body kit for an airsoft AEG AR15, which means you get a V2 gearbox, an ar15 type hopup assembly, a barrel, handguard, stock, and pistol grip - all put together to create an airsoft gun. (Yes, it's built so that standard AEG parts are compatible, but you can also print everything.) That also means you can have it customized or in bright colors if you want. Note that some level of technical expertise is required. Why on earth you might consider printing this: A. You live in a country where airsoft supply is limited and overpriced, making importing a problem. But you can source a gearbox, hopup, and some tube for an external barrel, and have a printer nearby. B. Just because printing the body kit is cheap and it holds up well. C. Want a super lightweight build at a low price? That fits. D. Experimenting. E. You want to build a gelblaster. Now, a little bit about the E variant. I received a ton of messages regarding building a gelblaster from Chinese enthusiasts, unlucky Europeans, and Australians. And frankly, I don't know if my components can fit together in that way. No one has reached out to me yet to say they've successfully built a gelblaster using my components. If you're serious about building a gelblaster, the best thing you can do is send me your gearbox and T-piece along with the barrel - thanks for the feedback! Or if you can draw these parts perfectly in CAD, that works too. If you decide to give it a go, feedback is crucial in pushing this project forward, fixing possible mistakes, and making it better. So, I welcome you here -> https://discord.gg/DPYEGvH, where you can also download and request some files. If you want to support this project and have more of my designs like these here, the best thing you can do is buy a blank receiver. If you want it devoid of letters or to put custom markings on it, I can do that myself or customize it per your request if you reach out to me through Discord. INSTRUCTIONS! I really need to make a video. The next update will be with stock and vid, I guess. Printing orientation for receivers is correct, so don't touch it unless you want to rotate it along the Z-axis. First print the lower part. That requires no supports. I recommend applying some PVA (if using a glass bed) and starting to print. You don't really need a heated bed for this one (implying PLA or PETG usage). It will take about 10 hours, depending on wall thickness (1.2-1.6 recommended), and infill doesn't matter. Then print the upper part. That part will require supports as well. Rotate it 180 degrees so that the face meeting the barrel is flat on the build plate. Make sure you're levelled good. If not, your barrel and handguard may end up tilted. After printing the parts, clean up areas with overhangs and supports. Depending on your gearbox brand, you may need to sand down a protrusion on the back inner face of the lower receiver.
