I modified another creator's printable bearing to have the same dimensions as a standard 608 bearing. Somebody commented, suggesting that the printed bearings could be replaced with actual ones. Update: I have changed the model to have a passage for the BBs to be carefully passed through. I have successfully made two functional bearings and will get some pictures soon. Printing with a layer height of 1.6mm, I can add in a filament change before the start of layer 35 as 34 is the last layer with the passage cutout. In my slicer it is layer 28 if I am printing at .2mm. 10 standard copper clad steel BBs can be popped into the races and will be within the print after resuming and completing the final layers. The passage is snug but I am able to load up the bearing without shifting the print bed. I'm going to try printing this with some other filaments as I may need to enlarge the passage slightly. The last thing I can think of to add before I set this project down is that at least in my experience, brim adhesion is necessary. Without adhesion there is just enough resistance to cause the center race to come loose from the bed while you're installing the BBs. I was able to continue printing when the happened but the result wasn't the best. Thinner layer likes will result in a smoother bearing.
