I designed this harmonic damper to silence the obnoxious noise my printer has been producing since I upgraded its Y-axis to a screw drive. The short answer is, it didn't deliver. You can find numerous videos on YouTube where guys test these devices on their CNC mills, but all those tests are conducted at high speeds and typically in forward or reverse motion. They rarely replicate the low-speed, frequent stopping, starting, and reversing that a 3D printer and some CNC mills experience. Check out my test video here: https://www.youtube.com/... and here: https://www.youtube.com/... If you decide to give it a try, print in solid or with 50% fill, without brim or support material. Glue the pennies together in stacks of five, then insert them into their respective holes on the disk. Secure the cover using six-32 screws and attach the device to your dual-shaft NEMA-23 motor's flattened 1/4-inch shaft.
