This is a replica of the San Francisco Bay Area created with help from Thatcher Chamberlin's Terrain2STL tool. For an in-depth overview on how it was made, check out my blog post at this link. You can find the article about this project at 3DPrint.com. Instructions Made using my Makerbot Replicator 1 with Sailfish firmware and these settings: First layer "Neon Blue" PLA translucent, all later layers light gray PLA. No raft or supports were needed. Extruded at 230 degrees Celsius with HBP turned off. 2 shells with 10% infill and a resolution of 200 microns. Print speed set to 120mm/sec, travel speed 150mm/sec.
