Depending on the weather and humidity, parts sometimes stick strongly to my plastic (Lexan) print bed, while others come loose in the middle of printing. To ensure maximum adhesion when printing PLA, I thoroughly sand my print bed, yet I still encounter instances where the part detaches from the bed during printing. I designed a simple component that can be easily added to any print via my slicer software. To use it, I place the 'Print Pad' under the part I want to print. After printing and confirming the actual part is being printed, I apply painters tape to the 'Print Pad' to secure it in place until the part finishes printing. The pad is thin enough that it breaks off easily from the printed part, requiring minimal sanding - often, no sanding or trimming is necessary at all.
